NYSCA/Council Joint Unity Update

The NYSCA and Council Unity committees have continued to meet on a regular basis over the past years to discuss the Unity of the Chiropractic organizations in New York. We are continuing to find common ground, direction, and restore momentum to the Unity process. The committee members on both sides are committed to this process.

Both committee's have continued to discuss the remaining issues in the CSSNY bylaws and are addressing those issues to come to compromises on both sides for what is the best for all our members and the profession at large in New York. We have an upcoming meeting in September 2023 to continue the process. This will include further bylaws discussion, reviewing the Plan of Consolidation, and financial/membership disclosures. Together these represent the last steps to a unified organization.

While this is a short list, there are many details. Leaders of both organizations have expressed their desire to bring Unity to our profession for a consolidated organization that is devoted to the protection and promotion of Chiropractic in New York. To make this a reality we are committed to specific actions and timeframes in preparation for the next meeting. The final choice of consolidation will be up to the memberships of both current organizations.

In the meantime we will continue to work together through the Joint Legislative Task Force on the chiropractic issues in New York. Please know that today marks another step forward in the efforts to create unity for chiropractic in New York.
