Seneca Falls: New York Chiropractic College today unveiled its School of Health Sciences and Education. To improve upon its academic structure of having schools within the overarching New York Chiropractic College domain, this newest entity will encompass the existing Master of Science in Applied Clinical Nutrition, Master of Science in Human Anatomy and Physiology Instruction, and Bachelor of Professional Studies programs. “The creation of this school and its inclusive name will bring the diverse masters and bachelor degree programs we currently offer under the identity of one school while facilitating potential growth of new online programs in the future,” says Michael Mestan, DC, EdD, the college’s Executive Vice President and Provost.
The most recent issue of the JMPT has a series of 3 papers that will help to fill the evidence gap and answer the question "Does inclusion of chiropractic care result in cost savings?" Each of these papers focuses on one area of musculoskeletal health that has been identified as a public health burden: low back pain, neck pain, and headache.
The NYSCA is committed to the Unity process and looks forward to working toward that end with the Council. Regarding the Council's recent release, we regret that the Council paints the Unity process in a negative light. There are several issues that need to be resolved and we are confident that can be achieved. The NYSCA looks forward to future Unity meetings and finding compromise.

As many of you are aware the NYSCA Workers' Compensation Committee has been working with Broadspire and Sedgwick after issues were identified with inappropriate denials of Chiropractic Manipulative Therapy rendered within the recommendations of New York's Medical Treatment Guidelines.
Dr. David BenEliyahu of Selden, NY, a NYSCA District 7 member for over 30 years, was recently granted 'Recognition Status' for the Patient Centered Connected Care Program, by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). Dr BenEliyahu's chiropractic practice, Coram-Selden Chiropractic, is the first Chiropractic practice in New York State, and the second in the nation, to receive the prestigious NCQA Seal for Patient Centered Connected Care (PCCC).

On March 28, 2016 the NYS WCB hosted an informational webinar and feedback session regarding the web based Medical Portal they have been developing. It was attended by the NYSCA WC Committee. As you may know, this is part of the larger Business Process Reengineering Project that they have been undergoing and the NYSCA has been engaged in for several years.
