NYCC Named "2017 Great College to Work For" for Ninth Consecutive Year!

TheChronicleHonorRollEight Years on Honor Roll!

Seneca Falls: According to a new survey by The Chronicle of Higher Education, New York Chiropractic College (NYCC) is yet again one of the best colleges in the nation to work for.

The results, released today in The Chronicle’s annual report on The Academic Workplace, are based on a survey of colleges and universities across the nation. Recognition is based on a two-part assessment process: an institutional audit that captures demographics and workplace policies, and a survey administered to faculty, administrators, and professional support staff. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was the employee feedback.

New York Chiropractic College has participated in the Great Colleges program for nine consecutive years and has been honored each time. This year NYCC was recognized in ten of the eleven categories for which it qualified, including Collaborative Governance; Compensation and Benefits; Confidence in Senior Leadership; Facilities, Workspace, and Security; Job Satisfaction; Professional/Career Development Programs; Respect and Appreciation; Supervisor/Department Chair Relationship; Teaching Environment; and Work-Life Balance.

Institutions found to be particularly outstanding are further recognized as “Honor Roll” schools. NYCC has achieved this coveted status for eight consecutive years, making it a stand-out institution in its category of small four-year schools. The College is one of only two such schools nation-wide to receive this recognition every year it has been bestowed.

“This outstanding recognition rightly belongs to our faculty and staff. Their dedication to our students, and to the College supports the culture which allows us to pursue our mission of academic excellence, quality patient care, and professional leadership. I am proud and humble to have had the opportunity to be part of this exceptional team,” said NYCC President, Dr. Frank J. Nicchi. The Chronicle is the nation’s most important source of news about colleges and universities. “The Great Colleges to Work For distinction is well-known by academic jobseekers as a sign that an institution’s employees are valued and given opportunities for growth even when they face financial constraints,” said Liz McMillen, editor of The Chronicle. “Any college or university that’s on the list is showing that they emphasize one of their most valuable assets” their faculty and staff.”

Great Colleges to Work For is one of the largest and most respected workplace-recognition programs in the country.
