NYSCA & Council Respond to NYS WCB Proposed Medical Fee Schedule Discussion Document

The NYSCA and NY Council have jointly responded to the NYS WCBs "Proposed Medical Fee Schedule Discussion Document". We thank our membership for sharing their comments and concerns with our WC Committee and trust you will see your concerns reflected in our questions and comments. At present, this is an ongoing discussion which the profession has been engaged in for some time. We have come a long way from the beginning of this conversation, but also recognize that this document requires additional modifications to represent current best practices. After the responses from this discussion are collected and reviewed, we anticipate the WCB releasing a formal proposal early in 2015. In the meantime we will continue to monitor the situation and will meet with the WCB on this matter.
Our broad objective is stated as follows, "we believe our mutual goal should be the inclusion of all services injured workers in the State of New York are entitled to receive, as recommended by the Medical Treatment Guidelines, and consistent with the Chiropractic scope of practice."

In anticipation of the coming changes, the WC committee is preparing for a presentation at the March 13-15, 2015 Convention at Mohegan Sun. We will be offering you the most updated information we have, one month prior to the scheduled implementation of April 15, 2015.
