NYSCA Member Granted 'Recognition Status' by NCQA
Dr. David BenEliyahu of Selden, NY, a NYSCA District 7 member for over 30 years, was recently granted 'Recognition Status' for the Patient Centered Connected Care Program, by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). Dr BenEliyahu's chiropractic practice, Coram-Selden Chiropractic, is the first Chiropractic practice in New York State, and the second in the nation, to receive the prestigious NCQA Seal for Patient Centered Connected Care (PCCC).
The PCCC Program supports clinical integration and communication between providers in ambulatory settings, and the patient's primary care provider. This prestigious recognition requires a significant amount of documentation to support the practice standards required of the program. It helps establish that Doctors of Chiropractic are an important part of the health care team, and can participate in integrative and collaborative care settings.
The PCCC recognition program:

- Helps reduce duplication of services and procedures

Dr. BenEliyahu is the Administrative Director of the Back and Neck Pain Center at Mather Hospital in Port Jefferson, NY. He is also the Director of the Chiropractic Collaboration Program at Mather Hospital, and Co-Director of the Winthrop University Hospital Chiropractic Collaboration Program. These programs strive to integrate Chiropractic into mainstream medicine settings, by promoting inter-professional collaboration, education, and coordination of care.
