Insurance:

  • Ongoing negotiations improving insurance relations in New York
  • NYSCA's insurance consultants committee teaches chiropractors meeting certain qualifications how to examine and analyze a chiropractic claim and then promotes certified insurance consultants to the insurance industry, so that chiropractic patients can be examined by certified chiropractors, not physicians or other providers.
  • One of the profession's challenges is to ensure that chiropractic doctors receive fair reimbursement under insurance plans and programs.

NYSCA Newsletter:

  • Bi-monthly publication of the NYSCA Journal 'On the Agenda" Incorporates all aspects of current information that occurs throughout the state. It includes research, committee reports, legal matters, legislation, advertising, articles for daily practice and the recent activities of the NYSCA.

  • Members can include information on their practice, office location, hours of operation, insurances accepted, and other details that distinguish your practice.
  • Listings are searchable by patients by Name, City or Zip code.

Semi-Annual Conferences:

  • Regular conferences are held on a semi-annual basis offering educational seminars, license renewal, exhibits, relaxation for you and your family. Usually held in March and October.
  • Converences often include entertainment, sports and a Saturday evening banquet with special guest speakers.

Information Source:

  • Staff to provide assistance with routine questions members may have. Otherwise members have access to NYSCA committee chairpersons, practicing doctors of chiropractic with expertise in the area of their committee.
  • Access to answers on legal matters through NYSCA's Ethics Committee.

Leadership Potential:

  • NYSCA is New York State Not-for-Profit Corporation organized under New York Business Corporation Law. NYSCA is all about professional self-governance which under New York law (and the laws of all the other states and territories) requires governance by majority vote. NYSCA committees, delegates, and director positions as well as other activities provide an opportunity for members to become involved, to cultivate their leadership potential and people skills so that they may be selected to lead this profession into the future and beyond.

Local District Meetings:

  • Monthly meetings based on geographic location.
  • Chiropractic business is discussed, as well as a special guest lecturer, giving members a chance to communicate with other colleagues.
  • Meetings abide by Robert's Rules of Order.

Public Relations:

  • Statewide program that encourages local districts to have their members participate in the program.
